When your diesel engine starts blowing smoke or burning oil, chances are good you’ve got worn piston rings letting combustion gases slip past where they shouldn’t. Rebuilding your engine with proper rings is what gets compression back where it belongs and stops that oil consumption that’s eating into your profits. This .020 overbore ring set is designed for engines that need just a little cleanup after years of faithful service.
What You’re Getting
- Complete ring set for one piston – includes 3 compression rings at 3/32″ and 1 oil ring at 3/16″
- Precision-made for .020″ oversize pistons in 4.2″ standard bore engines
- TISCO quality construction that meets OEM specifications for proper sealing
- Correct ring spacing and tension to restore proper compression and oil control
Built for Real Farm Work
These rings work in Ford and New Holland tractors with 158, 175, and 233 CID diesel engines – the workhorses you see in everything from loader tractors to field cultivators. Whether you’re running a 2000 series utility tractor around the farmyard or pushing a 5000 series through heavy tillage work, these engines have been powering farms for decades and are worth rebuilding right.
Made to Last
Farm diesel engines face tough conditions – dust, temperature swings, and long hours under load. These rings are built to handle the constant pressure cycles and heat that come with agricultural work. The materials and design restore the seal between piston and cylinder wall, getting your compression back up and your oil consumption back down.
Good to Know
This is for engines that are being bored .020″ oversize – you’ll need matching pistons to go with these rings. Most machine shops can tell you if your cylinders are good candidates for a .020″ cleanup rather than a full sleeve job. When installing, pay attention to ring gap specifications and make sure you’ve got the rings oriented correctly – the oil ring especially has a specific way it needs to go together.
